For one, it is a great sensory experience, which kids can squish, pound, and squash the playdough to give themselves proprioceptive and tactile feedback. Playing with playdough keeps their little hands busy and it also helps with fine motor skills. You can make many shapes and figures out of playdough. It is so easy and fun to make and the kids will thank you for it. Here are the ingredients you will need:

  1. Two cups of flour
  2. 1/2 cup salt
  3. 1 cup warm water
  4. 1 tbsp cream of tartar
  5. 1 tbsp oil (vegetable)
  6. food coloring
  7. wooden spoons, measuring cup, teaspoons, large bowl
  8. essential oils such as lavender, orange, lemon, etc for a delightful smell

Combine all ingredients, adding the food coloring last. Place in baby food jars or containers when finished. Just make sure to put it in containers or plastic wrap after the kids are done playing. Don’t want a big mess and of course to prevent from the play dough from drying out.play-dough-ingredients p1020849¬† p1020854p1020873
